Today I put together a little outing to take a look at some of the new bags by Dooney and Bourke, needed to get a gift for my wife for our wedding anniversary. This was a great decision. I managed to get a sales person that was very knowledgeable about all the Dooney brand handbags and she also gave some very sound directions as to what handbag is recommended for most. I also got a chance to feel and see the quality that the Dooney brand has to offer. I was very impressed to say the least.

The leather handbags:

Dooney definitely uses the some of the best leather products on the high end market. The leather was very soft and flexible. All the leather was treated to be water resistant. This comes in handy on those rainy days. Have you every had a coat that was not treated. The leather becomes very coarse and rigid, and when it dries it is never the same. You might as well give the coat away or trash it. This kind of damage is not something that you will not have to worry about with a Dooney and Bourke handbag.

The Giraffe handbags:

Took a look at the Giraffe handbag collection and I almost brought one. Their were plenty handbags in this collection to choose from. But their was particularly one large zip Giraffe handbag that caught my eye, mainly because of all the room that it had. The wife loves a roomy handbag. It had pocket on the outside of the bag for storing those quick knickknacks, a zip up top for privacy and plenty of pockets in the inside for the cell phone and maybe a scheduler. The leather on this handbag was also exquisite, soft and flexible for many years of service.

The Cloth handbags:

Dooney and Bourke also carry cloth handbag that look and feel just as good as their leather counter parts. Some come with storage compartments on the sides of the handbags. These are mostly on the larger handbags. But the real joy of these bags is the strength and care taken in their construction. The attention to details comes out with the line and the stitching of each seam.
