I know this is a lot off subject but these story needs to be told all across the net. The story about the six young men that are being prosecuted in Georgia, the Jena Six.
I hesitate the blog on this matter because of my strong feeling of injustice. The injustice of how six young men (black) could get suck a great charge put on them but the other young men (white) get nothing but a slap on the wrist. I believe the black young men need to have some charge but I believe the same needed to happen to the other young men.
I hope that everyone gets a chance to listen and hear the facts of this case and form your own opinion. If you would like to learn more, here are a few links about the case.
here’s a summary on the background of the race.
What is your opinion on the case? Is it wrong or right?

First, before you go on your ignorant rant why don’t you get your information correct - this is all going on in Louisiana NOT Georgia!
You know, I am going to entertain your negativity for a min… Are you angry because people have a voice about this subject even if the state is wrong or are you on the side that you are glad that these children are getting representation that is helping them? Why so much negativity over a case to help students that are seeing so much hate?
I think it is sad how the judicial system continue to persecute according to color. I don’t teach my children color (I’m originally an Arkansan and one of the Little Rock 9 is a distant cousin per my grandmother). My question was where did the white kids get the idea to hang nooses in a tree? That is the continuation of white people teaching hate to their children. I’m a Registered Nurse and I get ” can you tell my nurse…” and I have to politely say I am your nurse. They assume that the nursing assistant who came in before I did is their nurse. I’m 33 years old and I continue to see and receive discrimination in the community…sad. I Martin Luther King is shaking his head in his grave at the Jena situation along the rest of the racial mess that continues to go on.
Most people probably happen upon this site to shop for handbags, not to discuss the plight of the black man.
Its great that you want to blog, but does it not seem to diminish your professionalism for you to blog about controversial racial matters on your business web site?
My opinion, blog on leather types, market trends, etc.

Jeremy Hermida,
Everyone has a very strong opinion on this topic and obviously you do too. I am sorry that you think that this topic has no place on this blog. And in some cases I would tend to agree, but in this case I thought it important to get the word out and to get the opinion of those who visit this site. I hope that you understand that this in not the norm but something that meant a lot to me and I wanted to express that here. Thanks for your opinion.
I am from Louisiana, and have had friends who live in the town explain the situation to me. The “nooses” were actually lassos, due to a pep rally that had occured that day. I think that all children were at fault, but the event did not deserve the media attention it received. We, in Louisiana, are still feeling the ramifications of the event. Other students, at other schools, are now threatening to make their situations akin to the Jena Six event. We have had shooting threats, stabbing threats, racial threats, and bomb threats. All due to this one event. When I feel that the life of my Kindergartener is in danger because the media and certain political leaders decided to inflate a situation that could have been handled fairly, that’s when the event becomes a disgrace. I came to this site to buy a purse and a wallet. I was probably going to drop $400. My business will be taken elsewhere.
Obviously, there are plenty of people that were hurt by this situation. But I ask, if this was not needed why are there racial threats at this present time. I believe with change comes fear and to some extent heart ache. I am sorry that you fill this way about the event. I thank you for your comment…
if u r gonna b outraged and passionate about something u should at least give that subject the respect of knowing the details.
This is nonsense. I read the details of this case. These 6 young black males are from from aggrieved martyrs– they ganged up on a single white kid (who didn’t do anything), and because they now say it was because of “nooses” they say, it’s OK.
Well it’s not OK–bull* is bull* as my father used to say– has nothing to do with their color, and shouldn’t. This political correctness of tolerating crimes from blacks (or any other groups) which isn’t tolerated from anyone else is actually a form of reverse racism–somehow they can’t help themselves.
While I’m sympathetic to the plight of minorities when they’re not treated fairly, the ridiculous side of political correctness flies in the face of everything American. People of any color need to be held accountable for their actions– it’s the only way we’ll maintain a civilized society.
