So we all know the internet has taken the fashion world by storm, no longer do you have to live in or travel to a major city to buy the latest in designer fashion. However the biggest problem i see with internet shopping is choosing the right retailer to purchase from. For example just try searching online for something like designer handbags and you will get over a million results. The way i see it there are two major problems with shopping for fashion online.

• How do you know the shop is reputable and will deliver what they say they will?
• Since so much of fashion is about how something looks and feels can you really tell if you going to like the item just from a website?

To address the first point i think reputation has alot to do with shopping online. This is not to say that the major fashion ecommerce shops don’t make mistakes but the difference is that they have much more to lose if they do “mess up”. Indeed many of the big online designer shops like Asos and netaporter are a brand in their own right and any negative associated with that brand can cost them a lot of money.

The second issue of whether you will actually like the item or not because it is based only on some pictures is much harder to answer. The easiest answer however is that almost all online clothes and fashion shops have a 30 return policy so if you don’t like it just send it back in mint condition and you will be refunded. However please don’t try to wear it for the weekend then send it back! Also as far as quality goes you can’t go wrong by sticking with the major designers like Fendi and Chloe as they will rarely let you down. So there you have it, my advice for buying from the latest designers in the digital world!
